Because of their unique intellectual abilities and developmental profile, gifted children often benefit from specialized programming that is able to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs. Admission into gifted educational programs most often relies on the results of an intellectual assessment, such as the WISC-V or the WPPSI-IV. In some cases, an academic evaluation, such as the WIAT-III, is also required.
